Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Job Summary:

The City of Long Beach is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing civil engineering projects, including transportation, water, and wastewater systems. You will work closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop civil engineering projects, including transportation, water, and wastewater systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that projects are being constructed in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other staff members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in transportation, water, and wastewater engineering.
  • Certification in a related field, such as LEED AP or PE.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
