Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Program Support Specialist to join our team. As a Program Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our child support program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and organize information to meet program requirements
  • Create and update client records in automated systems
  • Process documents in assigned case management functions
  • Communicate directly with clients, internal staff, and external agencies as needed
  • Research documentation to support actions by case management staff
Requirements
  • Experience in an office environment providing customer service to the general public
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and utilize legal and financial data, automated reports, and plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to obtain and assess information/data through interviewing and independently research cases to resolve difficult problems
  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the general public and a diverse audience
  • Experience with a personal computer using remote access technology, email, automated information systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the use of office equipment, including network-based electronic mail machines and printers
  • Work experience in child support enforcement or other social service programs
