Job Summary

The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Program Support Technician to join its team in the Central Virginia District. As a Program Support Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of child support cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and organize information to meet requirements and create and update client records in automated systems.
  • Process documents in assigned case management functions and communicate directly with clients, internal staff, and external agencies as needed.
  • Research documentation to support actions by case management staff in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
Requirements
  • Experience in an office environment providing customer service to the general public.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and utilize legal and financial data, plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities, obtain and assess information/data through interviewing, independently research cases to resolve difficult problems, interpret and apply policies and procedures, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the general public and a diverse audience.
  • Experience with a personal computer using remote access technology, email, automated information systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Additional Considerations
  • Experience in the use of office equipment, including network-based electronic mail machines and printers.
  • Work experience in child support enforcement or other social service programs.
