Overview:
The Media Studies Department at College Broadcasters Inc is seeking applications for a faculty position focused on Media Studies with a strong emphasis on social equity and justice.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, or a closely related discipline. This role is tenure track or tenure eligible.

Research and Teaching Focus:
Successful applicants will utilize critical empirical methodologies and will be instrumental in advancing research and teaching in social justice as it relates to various domains, including but not limited to:
• Gender, race, and social justice in media
• Environmental and scientific journalism
• Sustainable and entrepreneurial media practices
• Community-focused and solutions-oriented journalism
• Global media perspectives
• Bilingual media practices
• Sports media analysis

Expectations:
Candidates should demonstrate a history or potential for impactful research, engaging and inclusive teaching, and innovative collaboration with faculty engaged in practical applications. New faculty members will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as contributing to curriculum development in their areas of expertise. Research expectations and teaching responsibilities align with those of a research-intensive institution.

Departmental Commitment:
The department is dedicated to a theory-driven and experiential learning approach at both undergraduate and master's levels, valuing innovative synthesis through practical application and collaboration.

Faculty Contributions:
Faculty members will also contribute to the school-level Ph.D. program in Communication and mentor students interested in media studies and global social change. The department supports award-winning student media organizations and initiatives.
