The University of Miami is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Clinical Associate Professor in Cardiology. This position involves significant responsibilities in the development and management of the Adult Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Surgical Director of Heart Transplantation/LVAD and the Medical Director of Transplant Services to enhance the program.
- Promote high standards of clinical practice through the formulation of transplant policies and guidelines.
- Engage in the evaluation of pre-transplant candidates and oversee donor selection processes.
- Develop strategic initiatives to improve patient flow in outpatient clinics while ensuring quality care.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings to assess new heart transplant and LVAD referrals.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- Board certification in Medicine with a completed fellowship in Cardiology.
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience in Transplantation.
- Current licensure to practice in Florida.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and effective interpersonal skills.
Administrative Duties:
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the research and development of transplant-related policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain effective relationships with medical staff and administration.
