Laboratory Service Inc is in search of an Operations Team Leader to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will thrive in a dynamic, customer-centric, and demanding environment, contributing to our overarching mission: Enhancing Health, Enriching Lives.

Work Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Additional hours may be necessary based on operational requirements.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

Benefits: All employment offers will be determined by a candidate's skills, relevant experience, and educational background. Full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, 401(K), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Paid Time Off (PTO), Flexible Time Off (FTO), commissions, and company bonuses where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily functions of the non-technical staff within the Distribution department.
  • Assist in the preparation of laboratory samples for analysis and testing.
  • Directly manage, train, and mentor non-technical team members.
  • Monitor daily laboratory workflow and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
  • Ensure all departmental shifts are appropriately staffed.
  • Investigate and resolve production discrepancies, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing process and service level enhancements.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and uphold Quality Assurance documentation.
  • Meet regularly with team members to provide coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Administer and uphold company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • Relevant experience, preferably in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience in distribution is a plus.
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations and associated policies is desirable.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Critical thinking skills with the capacity to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
