Key Responsibilities:

Engage with various insurance providers to confirm coverage and facilitate financial arrangements, including patient deposits and payment plans. Ensure compliance with all pre-surgical authorization requirements and maintain communication with all stakeholders involved.
- Administrative Support: Address patient inquiries and resolve issues related to billing, appointment scheduling, and medical records. Support the clinic's operational flow by balancing patient registrations and appointments, while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.
- Confidentiality and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and adhere to organizational safety policies. Ensure that all interactions and tasks are performed in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team efforts aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall function of the practice.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical admissions environment, preferably within an ophthalmology setting.
- Proficient knowledge of insurance processes and medical billing guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.
- Experience in a medical teaching institution is advantageous.
