Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Surgery Coordination: Efficiently manage and schedule surgeries by collecting and updating necessary patient information in the relevant systems. Engage with various insurance providers to confirm coverage and facilitate financial arrangements, including patient deposits and payment plans. Ensure compliance with all pre-surgical authorization requirements and maintain communication with all stakeholders involved.
  • Administrative Support: Address patient inquiries and resolve issues related to billing, appointment scheduling, and medical records. Support the clinic's operational flow by balancing patient registrations and appointments, while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and adhere to organizational safety policies. Ensure that all interactions and tasks are performed in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team efforts aimed at improving patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical admissions environment, preferably within an ophthalmology setting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.
  • Experience in a medical teaching institution is advantageous.
