Job Title: Land Permit Specialist

Magnolia Oil & Gas Operating is seeking a highly skilled Land Permit Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for executing permit submittals to the Texas Railroad Commission and coordinating regulatory filings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor rig schedule permits and ensure timely submissions to achieve desired spud dates.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and submit oil and gas regulatory drilling and completion applications, including allocation wells.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of data required for permit and completion submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Communicate and coordinate with leaders on timing of regulatory approvals, identify potential problems, and work with the land team to provide solutions.
  • Coordinate information required by regulatory agencies and provide advanced support for land professionals dealing with complex permitting and compliance issues.
  • Conduct internal reviews and analyses, monitor regulatory developments, and participate in the development and implementation of compliance-related guidance.
  • Improve relationships and communications with regulatory agencies and continually look for process improvements.
  • Responsible for quality control to ensure validity of all permitting data and metrics.
  • Identify, diagnose, and recommend regulatory compliance solutions independently, collaborate across disciplines, and demonstrate advanced project management skills.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
  • Direct land experience in and knowledge of Texas land, including allocation wells.
  • 5+ years' experience as an oil & gas company Landman, preferred.
  • Member of AAPL, RPL, or CPL Certification, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS programs.
  • Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced organization and adapt to competing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, yet cooperatively and constructively, in a team environment.
