Job Title: Senior Land Permit Specialist

New Tech Global is seeking a Senior Land Permit Specialist for an Oil and Gas company in the Houston area. This is a direct hire opportunity that is 100% on-site.

Job Summary:

The Senior Land Permit Specialist will utilize their land technical skills to execute on permit submittals to the Texas Railroad Commission in support of the development team. They are responsible for coordinating regulatory filings, communicating regulatory permitting requirements and updates from agencies, and working collaboratively and cross-functionally both internally within operations team and with outside parties, including state and federal agencies, continually driving progress and results on development projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor rig schedule permits and ensure submissions are done in a timely manner to achieve desired spud dates.
  • Coordination, preparation, and submittal of oil and gas regulatory drilling and completion applications (drilling permits and completion filings), specifically for allocation wells.
  • In-depth review and analysis of data required for permit and completion submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance with the regulatory agency.
  • Communicate and coordinate with leader on timing of regulatory approvals, identifies potential problems ahead of time, and works with the land team to provide solutions.
  • Coordinating information required by regulatory agencies and providing advanced support for land professionals dealing with complex permitting and compliance issues.
  • Conduct internal reviews and analysis, monitoring regulatory developments, and participating in the development and implementation of compliance-related guidance.
  • Constantly improving relationships and communications with all regulatory agencies and continually looking for process improvements. Focus will be on communication with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies on pre-submission strategies, completion requirements or clarifications, and follow-up of submissions under review.
  • Responsible for quality control to ensure validity of all permitting data and metrics.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and recommends regulatory compliance solutions independently, collaborates across disciplines, and demonstrates advanced project management skills, contributing to company performance and goals.
  • Execute permitting objectives at both the federal and state levels.
  • When applicable, track and maintain federal APD inventory. Submit 100% of available BLM APD extensions within 90 days of the expiration date.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from an accredited four-year university or college, required.
  • Direct land experience in and knowledge of Texas land required, including allocation wells, required.
  • 10+ years' experience as an oil & gas company Landman, preferred.
  • Member of AAPL, RPL or CPL Certification, preferred.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of geology, engineering, and regulatory responsibilities as they apply to the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS programs.
