Job Summary

The Land Permit Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting Magnolia Oil & Gas Operating's development team by executing permit submittals to the Texas Railroad Commission. This position requires strong land technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Filings: Coordinate and prepare oil and gas regulatory drilling and completion applications, ensuring timely submissions to achieve desired spud dates.
  • Permit Submittals: Review and analyze data required for permit and completion submittals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate with leaders on timing of regulatory approvals, identify potential problems, and work with the land team to provide solutions.
  • Regulatory Agency Coordination: Coordinate information required by regulatory agencies and provide advanced support for land professionals dealing with complex permitting and compliance issues.
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Conduct internal reviews and analysis, monitor regulatory developments, and participate in the development and implementation of compliance-related guidance.
  • Relationship Building: Constantly improve relationships and communications with all regulatory agencies, focusing on pre-submission strategies, completion requirements, and clarifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the validity of all permitting data and metrics, identifying and recommending regulatory compliance solutions independently.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience as an oil & gas company Landman, with direct land experience in and knowledge of Texas land, including allocation wells.
  • Certifications: Member of AAPL, RPL, or CPL Certification, preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, system savvy, and ability to work with different applications and databases.
