Job Summary

The Loan Administration Assistant plays a vital role in the success of OakStar Bank by ensuring the smooth operation of loan administration duties. This position is responsible for performing routine tasks related to consumer and business loans, including processing loan applications, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loan Processing: Assist with uploading and reviewing new and renewed loans on the bank's CORE system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of loan documentation.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Sort and distribute daily and monthly loan reports to applicable branches or departments, and maintain compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal banking regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide effective customer service, answering phone calls, responding to loan officer or customer inquiries, and resolving problems within given authority.
  • Documentation and Filing: Set up and maintain credit and other files for documentation and compliance, vehicle liens and/or UCC filings, and assist loan officers and other personnel in preparing and providing related documentation.
  • Mathematical Calculations: Calculate loan pay-off amounts for certain types of loans, and perform mathematical calculations to determine loan balances and resolve problems.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Basic experience, knowledge, and training in lending activities, terminology, and products and services; basic knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank deposit or lending policies; basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, bank's CORE system, word processing, spreadsheet, and specialty software programs.
  • Communication: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Working Conditions

The Loan Administration Assistant will work in a fast-paced banking environment, with frequent interactions with customers, loan officers, and other bank personnel. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
