Position Overview

As a Quarry Operations Expert in the Army National Guard, you will play a crucial role in transforming large rock formations into usable materials for construction projects. Utilizing heavy machinery and explosives, you will be responsible for the entire quarrying process, from initial blasting to the delivery of finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various machinery including air compressors, hydraulic rock drills, and rock crushers.

• Manage support equipment during the crushing and screening processes, such as generators and conveyors.

Skills Development

• Learn to operate a range of construction equipment.

• Gain expertise in the maintenance and repair of quarry machinery.

• Understand fundamental construction principles.

Essential Qualities

• A keen interest in operating quarry construction equipment.

• A preference for outdoor work environments.

• An enthusiasm for explosives and blasting techniques.

Through comprehensive training, you will acquire the skills necessary for a rewarding civilian career in construction firms, rock quarries, or state highway agencies.

Compensation and Training
Instead of incurring costs to learn these skills, you will receive a regular paycheck while gaining valuable experience. The training for a Quarry Operations Expert includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, followed by seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which combines classroom instruction with hands-on practice in operating construction equipment.

Requirements
