Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Echocardiography Technologist to join our Pediatric Cardiology Echo Laboratory team at Children's National Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical and research responsibilities related to echocardiography.

Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiograms on complex patients with congenital heart disease in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Independently perform fetal echocardiograms in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize online and offline analysis systems effectively to perform analysis and record results.
  • Strive for accuracy and maintain high-quality echocardiograms.
  • Record and bill studies accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in research activities and special projects, including volunteering for research projects and assisting physicians and fellows with research.
  • Assist the director of echocardiography with telemedicine, 3D echo, and contrast studies.
  • Advise supervisors of equipment problems and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved school of echocardiography.
  • Minimum 3 years of prior cardiology experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 1 year of full-time dedicated pediatric experience in an echo laboratory directed by a board-certified pediatric cardiologist.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical/Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification.
  • Experience with online and offline analysis systems.
