Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Aircraft Dynamics Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. The ideal candidate will have expertise in aeroelastic analysis, structural dynamics, and aerodynamic modeling. Experience with industry-standard software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, ZONAIR, and ZAERO is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis for aeroelastics and aeroservoelastic responses
  • Work with a small team to rapid resolution of complex technical loads problems
  • Convey complex technical problems diplomatically and professionally to other engineering disciplines and leadership
  • Collaborate with flight controls, mass properties, stress, and mechanism teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with aeroelastic analysis
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on aircraft loads
  • Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance
  • Advanced knowledge of detailed ground and flight loads and load mitigation
  • Strong foundation in aeroelastic analysis, structural dynamics, and aerodynamic modeling
  • Experience with MATLAB and CAD Tools (NX)
