Job Title: Staff Aircraft Weapons Integration Engineer

Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly skilled Staff Aircraft Weapons Integration Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future.

Job Summary:

This position will be located in Melbourne, FL and will be responsible for developing, modifying, and maintaining the Mechanical Systems Design Architecture using engineering practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Mechanical Systems Design Architecture using engineering practices and standards.
  • Responsible for the physical and digital architectures for the aircraft mechanical system.
  • Part of a small team of mechanical design engineers supporting the preliminary design, development, and integration of mechanical system components and mechanisms onto an aircraft platform.
  • Perform design and analysis of aircraft landing gear and/or general aircraft mechanisms (utilities, flight controls, uplocks, etc.).
  • Team leadership experience and ability to perform mechanical system analysis and integration activities.
  • Experience in the procurement of aircraft actuation hardware (electrically and hydraulically powered) with related supplier management skills.
  • Attend internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in mechanical/aerospace engineering that includes a background in aircraft mechanical (mechanism) systems.
  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in mechanical/aerospace engineering that includes a background in aircraft mechanical (mechanism) systems.
  • PhD and 8 years of related professional/military experience in mechanical/aerospace engineering that includes a background in aircraft mechanical (mechanism) systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Programs (SAP) prior to the commencement of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with NX CAD software and Teamcenter PLM.
  • Managerial/Team Lead experience.
Salary Range:

$142,500 - $213,700

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
