Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Loads Engineer Senior Principal to join our team in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for performing analysis for flight loads and working with a small team to resolve complex technical loads problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis for flight loads and develop loads for miscellaneous conditions such as canopy, door, pressurization, engine mount, external store, tie-down/mooring, and aerial refueling.
  • Work with a small team to rapid resolution of complex technical loads problems and convey complex technical problems diplomatically and professionally to both other engineering disciplines and leadership.
  • Collaborate with flight controls, mass properties, stress, and mechanism teams to ensure seamless integration of loads analysis.
  • Develop and maintain detailed ground and flight loads and load mitigation knowledge.
  • Utilize industry-standard loads and dynamics analysis software such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, ZONAIR, ZAERO, MATLAB, and CAD Tools (NX).
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) in a STEM discipline and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with aircraft loads (flight/aero, ground) and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on aircraft loads (flight loads, ground loads) and active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
