The primary responsibility of this role is to create a challenging blended learning environment that meets the diverse needs of our students. This environment will uphold high standards, utilize data effectively, and seamlessly integrate personalized online learning with student-focused project-based activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement stimulating, challenging lessons tailored to students' individual needs and the prescribed curriculum.
  • Foster a positive, secure, and structured learning atmosphere.
  • Adhere to school-wide student management protocols within the classroom.
  • Engage with parents through phone communication and/or home visits as required.
  • Collaborate with Youth Development Specialists to coordinate individualized school-wide programs and services for each student (including tutoring, mentoring, parental involvement, workforce development, and post-secondary educational planning).
  • Exhibit knowledge and support for the school's mission, values, standards, policies, and ethical guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable state and federal regulations, local board policies, administrative directives, and the Connecticut Educators' Code of Ethics.
  • Serve as a positive role model for colleagues, students, staff, and parents.
  • Maintain professionalism during all school-related meetings.
  • Complete tasks as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

  • Connecticut certification (034) or in the process of obtaining certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Preferred two years of teaching experience with a demonstrated record of high student achievement.
