Science Educator for Middle School

Position Overview
Covenant Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated Science Educator to enhance our science curriculum and engage students in grades 5 through 8. This role is pivotal in fostering a passion for STEM subjects among our students, contributing significantly to their academic journey. As part of the NativityMiguel Coalition, our school operates an extended day program, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience.

Our educators are integral to the school community, taking part in various activities beyond teaching, including advisory roles, athletics, and service initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver approximately three STEM-focused classes to small groups of no more than fifteen students;
- Act as the primary contact for families as an advisor to a select group of students;
- Lead or assist in coaching and managing extracurricular clubs and activities;
- Supervise students throughout the school day as part of a faculty rotation;
- Ensure proper qualifications to transport students in school vehicles and supervise off-campus events;
- Engage in Summer Academy activities, typically held in July;
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned during the academic year and Summer Academy, which may occur outside regular hours.
Qualifications
- Strong alignment with the mission of Covenant Preparatory School;
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline (teaching certification is not mandatory);
- A willingness to engage in all facets of school life, including athletics, advisory, and other commitments;
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Compensation is based on educational background and experience. Benefits include health, vision, life, and dental insurance provided by the school, if necessary.
