Position Overview
Covenant Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated Science Educator to enhance our middle school science curriculum. This role is pivotal in fostering a passion for STEM among our students. We are looking for candidates who are deeply committed to our mission and possess a strong sense of social justice. Teachers at Covenant Prep are integral to the school community, engaging in various aspects of school life beyond their teaching duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver approximately three STEM-focused classes to small groups of up to fifteen students;
- Act as the primary advisor for a select group of students, serving as the first point of contact for families;
- Lead or assist in extracurricular activities, including coaching or managing clubs;
- Oversee student supervision throughout the school day on a rotating faculty schedule;
- Acquire necessary endorsements for transporting students and supervising off-campus events;
- Contribute to the Summer Academy program, typically held in July;
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned during the academic year and Summer Academy, which may occur outside regular hours.
Qualifications
- Strong alignment with the mission of Covenant Preparatory School;
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline (teaching certification is not mandatory);
- A willingness to engage in all facets of school life, including athletics and advisory roles;
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Compensation is based on educational background and experience. Benefits include health, vision, life, and dental insurance provided by the school, if necessary.
