Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Fire Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing installed fire protection and security systems, including panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, and system testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair installed fire protection and security systems
  • Program fire alarms, security, and access control system panels
  • Organize and utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of all assigned tasks
  • Provide excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4+ years experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound, and communications systems (preferred not required)
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • Good working knowledge of computers
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Overnight travel may be required
