Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Fire Alarm Technician to work with our client, a prominent player in the Telecommunications industry. This role involves the installation and upgrading of fire alarm systems in various commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and enhance fire alarm systems while adhering to building plans and electrical schematics.
  • Conduct installations by mounting sensors and performing necessary tasks such as drilling and accessing hard-to-reach areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations throughout the installation process.
  • Run low voltage cabling in commercial environments, including tasks like drilling through concrete and limited conduit work.
  • Complete wiring and connections to guarantee that fire alarm systems meet electrical and fire safety standards.
  • Perform tests to verify the operational status of newly installed fire alarm systems and their components.
  • Troubleshoot installations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, as well as legal and insurance requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Possession of a valid state license for low voltage, burglar alarm, fire alarm, security, or CCTV systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site maps.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards, specifically NFPA 70 and 72.
  • Experience with burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV systems is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer relations.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network devices such as switches, WiFi, and routers.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
