Job Description

As a Military Operations Specialist II, you will play a critical role in supporting the Texas Military Department's mission by delivering strategic planning and operations expertise. This position requires a strong understanding of military operations, planning, and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to support the Texas Military Department's mission
  • Coordinate with military leadership to ensure effective operations and planning
  • Analyze and evaluate programs and propose recommendations for improvement
  • Supervise and manage the work of others to ensure effective operations
  • Travel up to 25% of the work week to attend operational and planning meetings or special events
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Four years of experience in operational planning or a closely related field
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate of U.S. Army Command and General Staff College or service equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in leadership and advising of planning
  • Prior Military Experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of operations, planning, policies, procedures, and techniques
  • Knowledge of fiscal and budgeting techniques and practices
  • Ability to study and evaluate programs and propose recommendations
  • Ability to make decisions affecting the operations, planning, and training of the organization
Physical/Working Conditions:

Office work is generally performed in a sedentary office setting, involving sitting, standing, and walking to perform job duties. Office work requires extensive use of a personal computer and telephone. The candidate must also be able to lift, carry, move, and set up equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Military Employment Preference:
