Job Summary:

The Health Informatics Specialist II is a key member of the IIS Interoperability Group, responsible for performing routine data analysis work as assigned by the IIS Interoperability Post Production Team manager. This role involves analyzing and interpreting data electronically reported to the Texas Immunization Registry, identifying programmatic risks, and suggesting improvements to address gaps in data quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, identify, and interpret data electronically reported to the Texas Immunization Registry, including identifying programmatic risks and suggesting improvements.
  • Create, streamline, and automate vaccine data analysis reports and tools to assist in the oversight of vaccines disseminated through the TVFC and ASN programs.
  • Communicate with immunization stakeholders, including regional and local entities, and CDC personnel to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems.
  • Manage data projects as assigned by the IIS Interoperability Director and provide routine written and verbal status reports on projects.
  • Review and develop policies and procedures regarding data and analysis to ensure compliance with programmatic and operational goals.
Requirements:
  • Extensive PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, SQL, SAS, and other relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of database management, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of business analysis, project management standards, and techniques.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and facts, and to devise solutions to problems.
  • Ability to communicate processes and procedures clearly and effectively to others.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments to meet deadlines.
