Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team at Ahtna. As a Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve detailed project plans to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and other project personnel to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Build and maintain submittal registers to track project progress
  • Prepare preconstruction submittals, including written quality control plans, health and safety plans, and work plans
  • Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Document and report on quality control issues and non-conformances
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality control testing is performed at the required frequency and in accordance with project specifications
  • Review and ensure test results demonstrate conformance with project specifications
  • Coordinate and document testing and commissioning of building systems
  • Document final inspections, certificates of occupancy, and acceptance of work
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science, or Construction Management
  • Current USACE CQM Certificate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Projects)
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with government, commercial, and institutional buildings, mechanical systems, and site work
  • A working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work
  • High level of proficiency with spreadsheets, schedules, email, and other software used in the construction industry
  • Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ICD-705, data centers, security measures typically employed by Department of Defense, and construction of secure spaces on Federal installations
  • Current Government clearance
  • Current safety credentials include OSHA 30, 1st Aid, and CPR
  • Proficiency in RMS
  • Experience in both the Federal Government and Resources sectors
  • Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures
Work Environment

Generally, indoors. While outdoors may be subject to construction site conditions, confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels.

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting for prolonged periods, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, reaching with hands and arms for items above and below desk level, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place.
