The Animal Hospital and Emergency Clinic of Conroe is a leading veterinary facility dedicated to delivering exceptional care for pets and outstanding service for their owners. We are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, Cubex, and cold laser therapy.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both emergency/critical care and general practice, capable of handling both day practice and emergency shifts. This role requires someone who is patient, eager to learn, and compassionate toward animals in their greatest time of need.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of animals.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized animals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing education and support.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in emergency and critical care procedures as needed.
- Certified/ Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT) or equivalent qualification and/or experience 5+ years.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician (preferably in emergency or critical care) and/or 2-3 years as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
- Broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, including pharmacology, and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure accurate drug and fluid administration.
- Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work day practice and emergency shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
