About the Role

The Strategic Audience Data Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the qualitative and quantitative research needed to inform decisions around audience management at Gap Inc. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Audience Intelligence, this individual will be responsible for creating data-driven strategies to drive best-in-class media and marketing execution across four brands.

This is a key part of a new approach for Gap Inc., where you will integrate previously disparate efforts across the four brands to create a holistic understanding of each brand's current and target audience. You will build a data strategy that enables cross-portfolio efficiency and avoids audience cannibalization.

You will collaborate with counterparts across Insights and Segmentation, working closely with Gap Inc's brand teams, Media Shared Services organization, and Media agency partners. As the internal subject matter expert on Gap Inc's audience strategy, you will drive impact across a highly matrixed organization leveraging strong business and communication aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Socialize Playbooks: Create comprehensive playbooks around the full portfolio of Gap brands' audiences and serve as a strategic partner to Media Shared Services and Brand teams during planning and activation processes.
  • Audience Strategy Iteration: Iterate and update audience strategies in collaboration with Channel Planning & Activation and Media agency partners to optimize and adjust strategy based on evolving audience dynamics.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Lead the process of leveraging first- and third-party data sets to build target audiences that will optimize media effectiveness across Gap Inc's brands.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Partner with MadTech product team and Gap Inc's data science teams to identify priorities for the roadmap and incorporate net new capabilities into the data strategy.
  • Holistic View: Act as a key collaborator and resource for brands during planning process to build compelling audience strategy and provide a holistic view of overall portfolio strategy ensuring cohesion and harmony across brands.
Requirements:
  • Established Leadership: Proven experience as a marketing leader in audience data strategy.
  • Team Management: Strong track record of collaborative leadership, team building, and managing individual contributors.
  • Data Analysis: Experience using data and insights from multiple sources to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with Data Analysis and Manipulation Tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and Audience segmentation and activation tools (DMP, CDP, Data Onboarders).
  • Customer Data Strategy: Understanding of Customer Data Strategy concepts (1st/2nd/3rd party data, Data Privacy and Suppression, Segmentation) and latest regulatory developments (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

This salary range is based on industry standards and location considerations, providing a competitive compensation package for an exceptional candidate.
