Infrastructure Transformation Leader for Cloud and Hybrid Computing

Gap Inc. is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Transformation Leader to drive the company's cloud and hybrid computing strategy. This role will be responsible for leading the transformation of our infrastructure from on-premises/legacy stacks to cloud/modernized stacks, including designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT infrastructure using the latest technology.

About the Role

This is a critical position in the Technical Operations Leadership team, reporting to the Head of TechOps. The successful candidate will lead in defining, delivering, operating, and evolving our on-prem and cloud compute virtualization, storage, backup, database, middleware, data integration, network, and messaging infrastructure. They will influence and implement strategic improvements to Gap's network architecture, cloud infrastructure, and ensure high availability to Gap's business.

You will be a transformative leader with deep technical infrastructure and hybrid cloud experience. You will drive a successful DevOps model, lead, and be instrumental in driving our journey of adoption that will shift workloads from co-located data centers to a public cloud model through scalable infrastructure solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven strategic mindset balanced with strong operational and implementation expertise. They will maintain a global perspective, be culturally sensitive and aware, welcoming a diversity of ideas, approaches, and points of view. They will also drive innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast-changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership to support, grow, and empower the teams responsible for supporting On-premise compute servers, cloud infrastructure, public cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, data engineering, and batch operations.
  • Lead the infrastructure Team responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining the IT infrastructure using the latest technology in a proactive way ensuring systems are fully operational for the organization.
  • Model collaboration with the Product, Engineering, and Security teams to design and build world-class infrastructure that enables 24x7 high performance/availability that focuses on reliability and scalability of our platforms.
  • Develop key relationships with business units to coordinate efforts and activities to execute on the company's technology growth strategy, hardware and software hygiene, and infrastructure scalability.
  • Oversee planning and delivery of cloud infrastructure transformation initiatives & data center exits; develop goals aligned with customer needs, delivery speed, cost, and service objectives.
  • Lead and drive planning to support high performance of our omni-channel experience.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services included but not limited to: VMs, Azure DevOps, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Firewall, Azure storage services, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Active Directory, or equivalent services.
  • Experience with infrastructure tools and orchestration for infra hardware, software, networking, data centers, virtualization & Cloud services, backup & Disaster recovery, monitoring and management - inclusive of legacy and modernized tools such as VM Ware, IBM DB2, Dell Power Edge, Pure Storage, Cohesity, VLANs, SDWAN, MPLS, etc.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery and collaboration tools such as: GitHub, Jenkins, CodeFresh, Chef, Jira, Ansible, Terraform, Confluence, ServiceNow, and PagerDuty.
  • Proven strategic mindset balanced with strong operational and implementation expertise; drive for results and desire to win.
  • Maintains a global perspective and is culturally sensitive and aware welcoming a diversity of ideas, approaches, and points of view.
  • Drives innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proficient in management of services globalization – MSP model.
  • Progressive technology leadership experience as well as relevant technical experience working in large scale infrastructure operations.
  • Previous related experience in a large matrix retail organization preferred – high aptitude, learning agility.

The salary range for this position is approximately $180,000-$250,000 per year, depending on experience.
