Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare bid proposals for various projects.
  • Guide and mentor junior estimators in the electrical division through the bidding process and detailed take-offs.
  • Ensure the accuracy of material requirements and adherence to specifications.
  • Address design-related inquiries by collaborating with relevant personnel to maintain project momentum during estimation.
  • Support the General Manager in negotiating project bids and estimating costs.
  • Assist in negotiating the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct calls to gather bid results.
  • Verify material pricing.
  • Review project contracts to confirm alignment with bid specifications.
  • Participate in job kick-off and turnover meetings with project management and foremen.
  • Assess projections with the General Manager and Project Manager throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regularly evaluate projects for quality assurance and client satisfaction, including field reviews.
  • Attend job closeout and review meetings to analyze historical data.
  • Maintain a comprehensive historical database.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in estimating and quantity take-offs.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with trades to develop thorough cost estimates.
  • Experience in detailing and quantifying costs.
  • Capability to generate order of magnitude pricing for change packages.
  • Expertise in estimating electrical scopes of work.
  • Familiarity with current market pricing and capabilities.
  • Proficient in planning and scheduling the implementation of cost and change packages.
  • Experience in managing cost packages within estimating software systems.
  • Ability to validate and confirm trade and market pricing.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with trade partners, clients, and consultants.
  • Competence in engaging subcontractors on change issues while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience with Assemble, BIM 360, or similar Revit model engagement software is preferred.
