You will acquire expertise in engineered plastics, electronics, metals, elastomers, precision design, and manufacturing processes. Collaborating within highly cross-functional teams, you will innovate, design, test, and validate components, assemblies, and systems that exceed customer expectations.

Your efforts will drive innovation and reliability, directly contributing to Sterling Kohler's leadership in the global kitchen and bath industry.

How You'll Contribute

Demonstrate your expertise:
Apply engineering principles and structured problem-solving techniques to design and validate components, subsystems, and products. Engage in and conduct technical feasibility assessments of new concepts. Test and qualify innovations.

Collaborate with engineering colleagues for insights, feedback, and thorough reviews to enhance the quality of your technical work.


Collaborate for success:
Partner with your global cross-functional teammates in Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Industrial Design. Tackle challenging decisions directly and leverage diverse team perspectives to generate superior solutions. Recommend subsequent steps and drive alignment with business leadership to launch high-quality products efficiently and consistently.

Leverage Global Talent:
Engage Centers of Excellence and Technical Centers worldwide to fulfill project deliverables and promote parts/modules reuse.

Enhance our processes:
Assess designs for environmental sustainability and propose enhancements. Challenge the boundaries for Materials and Electro-mechanical designs. Benchmark to understand both our capabilities and those of competitors. Visit customers and consult experts to grasp installation needs and identify opportunities for quality improvements.
Maximize the meticulous attention to detail you have developed as an engineer.

Organize and coordinate test requests, prototype builds, bills of materials, engineering timelines, technical communications, and other engineering activities in support of new product launches.

Specific Responsibilities

Document and achieve product specifications:
customer, regulatory, and technical requirements.
Ensure functional acceptability through the application of engineering tools, analysis, and testing. This includes prototyping, simulation, DFA, DFMEA, and qualification.
Prepare comprehensive projects and/or technical plans for product development and/or enhancement.

Interface with senior engineers, support personnel, and external groups involved in product design, documentation, development, drafting, prototype construction, and testing of product concepts.

Document and share experiences to disseminate knowledge within and outside the department.
Contribute to the enhancement of products and processes.
Utilize 3D CAD software (PTC Creo) for the realization of concepts or designs.
Occasional travel to engage with suppliers, customers, tradeshows, and other Sterling Kohler locations as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (PTC Creo is highly preferred).
Working experience in mechanical engineering for electronics products will be a plus.
Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
Self-directed with creative problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to independently test, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
The salary range for this position is $83,300 - $105,200.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
