Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Vegetation Management to lead our programs and resource planning efforts. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership, strategy, and guidance for all programs and resource planning in Vegetation Management.
  • Lead the annual and multi-year forecasting and planning process for all programs in the function/department, including the Wildfire Mitigation Plan.
  • Develop strategies, plans, and processes for the allocation of approved program funds or work/projects to different operating divisions/areas/regions.
  • Ensure that all programs are managed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, filings, tariffs, and follow established guiding principles/best practices.
  • Establish overall strategy for performance measures and oversee the development, production, and presentation of comprehensive program management and resource & work planning performance measures and metrics.
  • Define and implement a resource planning strategy that incorporates the annual work plan, capacity, and demands, ensuring efficiency and optimization of resources.
  • Collaborate with PG&E stakeholders to develop short- and long-term work plans and strategies for the transmission and distribution system, reviewing, considering, and approving adjustments to plans to address funding or work changes.
  • Oversee work plan development, resource management, and scheduling, tracking plan progress and program management, leading a centralized resource planning team to ensure effective coordination and guidance is provided to regional Resource Managers on work plan objectives and resource deployments.
  • Ensure staff monitors and identifies work plan and resource gaps and works with parties to develop recovery plans, ensuring there is adequate available work, at the right time, to support the work plan by region and system-wide, making resource deployment decisions by identifying gaps and coordinating crew moves.
  • Partner with subordinate leaders to identify and prioritize process improvement initiatives, ensuring process and procedure development, implementation, communications, and training for new programs and/or changes to existing programs, coaching staff to identify gaps in work methods, procedures, processes, or training and partnering with stakeholders to recommend solutions.
  • Handle escalated program issues, including dealing with external customers and/or communities to resolve problems and ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor compliance with Company and California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) regulations, construction standards, and requirements, developing policies and relevant governance, processes, infrastructure, documentation, and tools to support the program, ensuring all required regulatory reporting is completed on time.
  • Participate as a lead member of the Incident Command structure during times of significant events, such as storms, earthquakes, etc.
  • Lead and influence department staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $174,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $296,000.00

Or

California Minimum: $165,000.00

California Maximum: $281,000.00
