Job Summary

As the Rowing Team Program Director, you will lead and manage the intercollegiate club sport of Rowing within the educational mission of the University. Your primary responsibility will be to educate club student-athletes in the value of sport and prepare them to compete successfully in US Rowing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee practice and race preparation, athlete evaluation, and supervision of part-time temporary employee assistant coaches.
  • Ensure risk management, student leadership development, and adherence to the rules of US rowing, the University, and SGA.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a team of student-athletes, assistant coaches, and support staff.
  • Attend team competitions, support athletes, and safely transport rowing shells to and from events.
  • Report to the Associate Director for SGA Operations and demonstrate commitment to issues of social justice and diversity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and one to three years of related experience required.
  • Previous collegiate rowing experience or equivalent competitive sport background required.
  • USRowing Level 1 coach certification required.
  • First-Aid, CPR, AED certification required.
  • Ability to rig, prepare, and transport rowing shells for competitive performance required.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Familiarity with University policies, standards, and procedures in related areas desirable.
Benefits

Anticipated Pay Range $37,000-$41,000 (9 month term)
