Job Title: Facilities Engineer - Mechanical

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer - Mechanical to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting facilities mechanical design, HVAC engineering, and construction project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support facilities mechanical design, HVAC engineering, and construction project management
  • Develop and implement mechanical building systems, including heating and cooling systems, calculation of heat loads, and equipment sizing studies
  • Prepare diagrams, sketches, construction drawings, cost estimates, bid documents, and construction administration
  • Interface and coordinate projects with internal and external resources, including information technology, safety, security, internal construction trade workers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in building mechanical engineering
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of building mechanical systems, including boilers, refrigeration, cooling skids, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, compressed air systems, nitrogen, and liquid nitrogen systems
  • Familiarity with building electrical systems and general understanding of building construction and civil works
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with other building design disciplines, including architectural, electrical, structural, civil, IT, and security
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in facilities engineering
  • Experience with design and construction project management
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities
  • Experience in building automation systems (BAS) and control systems, including Siemens, Johnson Controls, and Schneider Electric
