Electrical Engineer Job Description

NV5 is a leading provider of engineering and consulting services to public and private sector clients. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of electrical plans and specifications for various healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical engineering tasks under the supervision of senior engineers and project managers.
  • Lead electrical design tasks on projects, including lighting, power, fire alarm, and telecommunications infrastructure design.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to obtain and document field data.
  • Supervise junior electrical designers and review their work to ensure quality.
  • Assist senior engineers and project managers with project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Stay up-to-date with building codes and regulations.
  • Perform equipment takeoffs for estimating purposes.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for concurrent projects.
  • Prepare studies, drawings, and sketches as required.
  • Communicate with clients and architects to resolve engineering design issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in consulting engineering, including developing plans and specifications in the electrical discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP/Revit and other relevant software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five to ten years of experience in consulting engineering designing electrical systems and developing plans and specifications.
  • EIT (Fundamentals of Engineering Examination) or PE (Professional Engineer) License.
