Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain necessary licensure and credentials, including Dietitian/Nutritionist licensure in Florida and registration as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Demonstrate expertise in medical nutrition therapy within a clinical setting.
  • Conduct calorie counts and maintain precise daily records of nutritional care activities, including participation in patient tray assessments and meal rounds.
  • Develop and implement tailored medical nutrition care plans.
  • Perform nutrition screenings, interventions, and comprehensive assessments in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Accurately calculate nutrient compositions for enteral and parenteral feedings.
  • Monitor and document medical nutrition therapy, making modifications as necessary.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding medical nutrition therapy.
  • Create and review educational materials for patient use.
  • Oversee the performance of dietetic interns during their clinical rotations, ensuring they meet educational objectives.
  • Verify the accuracy of dietary orders and ensure compliance.
  • Communicate patient needs effectively with dietary staff.
  • Participate in relevant committees and serve as a resource for other dietitians and medical staff.
  • Engage in community outreach programs related to nutrition.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in Florida.
  • Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree or completion of an accredited internship program.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
