Head Cashier

The Head Cashier is a key member of our retail team, responsible for ensuring seamless customer transactions and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Customer Service: Project a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware, greet customers, and thank them by name when possible. Ensure excellent customer service from those supervised and communicate any problems or issues that require management assistance.
• Register Operations: Follow all cash register transaction procedures, balance the register drawer, and adhere to any Store Support Center programs or promotions.
• Cash Room Operations: Verify cashier-balancing procedures, deposit procedures, and policies in the absence of the Assistant Manager-Operations.
• Office Operations: Provide assistance to the Assistant Manager-Operations in completing office duties, including receiving, invoices, purchase orders, and inventory adjustments.
• Audit: Assist with the quarterly audit checklist and observe cashiers for proper phone etiquette, greeting customers, and handling returns correctly.
• Front End Appearance and Upkeep: Keep the front end neat and clean, face and dust the front end, and ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts.

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Experience in retail and/or office management preferred.
• Cashier experience and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25lbs), and climb.

Head Cashier: $13-$17 per hour.
