Head Cashier

The Head Cashier is a key member of our retail team, responsible for ensuring seamless transactions and providing excellent customer service. This role involves working closely with the Assistant Manager, Operations to complete office duties and contribute to the overall success of the store.

• Customer Service: Project a positive image of Westlake Ace Hardware, greet customers, and thank them by name when possible.
• Register Operations: Follow cash register procedures, balance the register drawer, and adhere to store programs and promotions.
• Cash Room Operations: Verify cashier-balancing procedures, deposit procedures, and policies in the absence of the Assistant Manager-Operations.
• Office Operations: Assist the Assistant Manager-Operations with office duties, including receiving, invoices, purchase orders, and inventory adjustments.
• Audit: Assist with the quarterly audit checklist and observe cashiers for proper phone etiquette and customer service.
• Front End Appearance and Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized front end, face and dust displays, and ensure fresh merchandise is rotated seasonally.

• Education: High School or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Retail and/or office management experience preferred, with a focus on customer service and cash handling.
• Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Head Cashier: $13-$17 per hour.
