Head Cashier

The Head Cashier is responsible for managing register transactions, ensuring accurate and efficient checkout processes, and providing exceptional customer service. This role also involves assisting the Assistant Manager, Operations with office duties and contributing to the overall success of the store.

• Customer Service: Project a positive image of Westlake Ace Hardware, greet customers, and ensure excellent service from those supervised.
• Register Operations: Follow cash register procedures, balance the register drawer, and adhere to store programs and promotions.
• Cash Room Operations: Verify cashier-balancing procedures, deposit procedures, and policies in the absence of the Assistant Manager-Operations.
• Office Operations: Assist the Assistant Manager-Operations with office duties, including receiving, invoices, purchase orders, and inventory adjustments.
• Audit: Assist with the quarterly audit checklist and observe cashiers for proper phone etiquette and customer service.
• Front End Appearance and Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized front end, restock impulse counters, and ensure fresh ads are available.

• Education: High School or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Retail and/or office management experience preferred, with cashier and customer service experience also beneficial.
• Skills: Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs), and climbing.

Head Cashier: $13-$17 per hour.
