About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter II to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Lines team, you'll be responsible for analyzing and underwriting business to meet our combined ratio and capital metric goals. Your $15-25M book of business will be a significant contributor to our success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze and underwrite business to meet capital metric and combined ratio goals
  2. Assist the Senior Underwriter team in achieving business unit goals through high-quality decision making and excellent underwriting practices
  3. Develop positive producer relationships and foster pre-existing partnerships
  4. Collaborate with the Commercial Lines team and other departments to further develop and enhance our products and services
  5. Manage, train, and mentor Underwriting Assistants and provide coaching and mentorship guidance to Underwriter I's
Core Competencies

We're looking for someone with exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. You'll also need to be highly organized and able to maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field
  • 3+ years of commercial insurance experience
  • Professional insurance designations a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
