Your Impact

  • Deliver direct care to residents under the guidance of licensed nursing staff, fostering a nurturing physical and emotional environment.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Fulfill the physical and sensory demands of the role while adapting to the work environment.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing the resident experience and improving operational workflows.
  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as grooming, bathing, dressing, and oral hygiene on a daily basis.
  • Regularly change bed linens and ensure grooming supplies are well-stocked in resident rooms.
  • Support residents in mobility and transfers, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Document vital signs, weight, and other relevant information as assigned.
  • Consistently reposition residents to ensure comfort and prevent complications.
  • Monitor residents closely and communicate any changes in their condition to the Charge Nurse.
  • Empower residents to make choices regarding their care within the caregiving framework.
  • Contribute to the development of care plans by providing valuable insights to nursing staff.
  • Encourage regular hydration for residents based on individual needs.
  • Prepare residents for meals and assist them as necessary in the dining area.
  • Maintain accurate records of food intake and output as directed.
  • Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards in assigned areas.
  • Assist nursing staff with care as needed.
  • Ensure optimal conditions regarding ventilation, temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
  • Measure and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as required.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and assist with their needs.
  • Utilize safe lifting techniques when moving or transporting residents.
  • Support the training and orientation of new staff members as requested.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Valid Nursing Assistant certification from the state.
  • Current CPR certification is preferred (state-specific).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including clinical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exhibit professionalism and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate across all organizational levels.
  • Customer service-oriented, capable of performing well under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated, capable of making independent decisions and taking initiative.
  • Adaptable to new tasks and changes in procedures.
  • Demonstrate integrity and work effectively with colleagues and vendors.

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoor work on tiled or carpeted floors.
  • Interaction with co-workers, residents, and their visitors.
  • Possible exposure to slippery surfaces, chemicals, sharp objects, and hazardous materials.
  • May encounter high-stress medical situations.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • This position involves significant physical activity.
  • Requires heavy lifting and moving of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a height of three (3) feet and carry it a distance of fifty (50) feet.
  • Standing or walking for more than four (4) hours daily.
  • Bending or stooping for extended periods.
  • Sitting for prolonged durations.
  • Involves repetitive typing and focusing on screens/documents for extended periods.
