We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Bridgepointe Gardens. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering medications and providing exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the charge nurse and the Director of Nursing.
- Medication Management: Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed and dated order from an attending licensed physician.
- Resident Care: Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment, and observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied, as directed.
- Documentation: Document any instance where prescribed medication is not administered, including reason(s) for refusal, and assist with medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
- Supply Management: Verify that adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents, and order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Review medication orders for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician's order and adherence to stop order policies, and notify the Charge Nurse/Nursing Supervisor of automatic stop orders prior to the last dosage being administered.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Certification: Current Medication Aide Certification and Current Nursing Assistant Certification from state.
- CPR Certification: Must have a current/active CPR certification. (State Specific)
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrate knowledge of clinical software being used in community, ie Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet.
- Professionalism: Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Teamwork: Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
- Customer Service: Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
- Adaptability: Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
- Physical Demands: This role requires considerable physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to fifty (50) or more pounds, and standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
