Job Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator will provide support to multiple manufacturing plants and distribution centers, working closely with corporate human resources to deliver professional, courteous, and effective service to each location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer first-level HR inquiries for managers and hourly employees
  • Liaise between corporate HR, payroll, and employees on benefits, RRSPs, payroll, HR, and short-term disability claims
  • Create and maintain location-specific reference manuals, standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions related to human resources
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records for all distribution center employees, including attendance records, training records, performance appraisals, and reviews
  • Develop and maintain HR monthly reports for location management, including turnover, absenteeism, manpower, STD hours, and recruitment
Recruitment and Selection
  • Develop recruitment programs to attract applicants and fill specific job openings
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment efforts for all hourly personnel and skilled trades, including sourcing, posting, screening, interviewing, testing, reference checking, and preparing offers
  • Job fairs - coordinate participation and work at job fairs to provide information about the organization and job opportunities to potential applicants
  • Develop effective onboarding procedures and conduct new employee orientation
  • Develop and administer effective rewards and recognition programs
  • Provide relevant HR training to hourly employees (AODA, Respect in the Workplace, Privacy, etc.)
  • Support and facilitate performance management plans
  • Assist in creating training matrices
  • Monitor 30-60-90 day evaluations and notify supervisors when due
  • Conduct exit interviews for hourly employees
  • Administer claims management and return-to-work for non-occupational injuries or illnesses
  • Meet with hourly employees as required to resolve benefit and payroll issues
  • Publish quarterly newsletters and important memo communications for employees
  • Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by management
Employee Engagement
  • Develop and administer effective rewards and recognition programs

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3 years of HR experience, preferably with a generalist focus, or any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education approved by IPEX management
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex human resource issues
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Solid foundation in recruitment and selection
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good time management skills with strong clerical experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
