Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities may vary by departmental program.
  • Deliver patient care in accordance with the regulations set forth by the New Jersey state licensing board and relevant healthcare institutions.
  • Participate in in-house call duties on designated days.
  • Assist in the Operating Room as assigned.
  • Manage clinic responsibilities, ensuring all patients are attended to.
  • Conduct rounds on hospitalized patients, ensuring continuity of care by effectively communicating with fellow residents and attending physicians.
  • Engage in clinical laboratory tasks, complete patient charts, and plan patient care outside of clinic hours when necessary.
  • Participate in community initiatives that support the medical center's various programs.
  • Attend assigned rotations and engage in performance improvement activities within the department.
  • Participate in all scheduled lectures and conferences.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required.
On-Call Duties

On-call responsibilities are shared both on and off campus. A beeper will be provided for convenience, and residents must respond within ten (10) minutes when paged, remaining no more than 20 minutes away. Non-compliance will be considered a breach of contract.

Logging Requirements

Residents are required to maintain logs of on-call duties and Operating Room activities, including:

  • Number of patients seen
  • Number of pre-operative evaluations during anesthesia rotations

Residents must keep a personal folder to document these activities.

Residents will fulfill all duties and responsibilities associated with patient care, which may include functioning outside the campus for screening or home visits.

Compliance with the Medical Center's requirements and the state of New Jersey is mandatory for this position, including obtaining and maintaining the necessary residency permit.

Residents are expected to apply principles of dentistry to enhance the overall systemic health of our patients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of an MD/DO degree
