About the Role

The Tennessee Society of Association Executives is seeking a visionary leader to serve as its Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the strategic, operational, and financial management of the association, ensuring alignment with its mission and goals.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance the association's operations, member engagement, and revenue growth.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Board of Directors, ensuring effective governance and decision-making.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
  • Oversee fundraising efforts, including sponsorships, grants, and membership dues, to support the association's mission.
  • Manage all official meetings of the association, including monthly meetings, speaker arrangements, and registration.
  • Respond to member requests and foster strong relationships with members, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.
  • Develop and implement programs and services that enhance member value and satisfaction, including education, networking, and advocacy.
  • Assist in membership promotion and renewal programs, and handle termination of delinquent members.
  • Submit annual reporting documents to maintain legal association requirements.
  • Work with the public relations committee, correspond with allied associations, and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national organizations.
  • Attend industry conferences, organize and coordinate chapter events, and attend educational programs related to association management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, association management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role within the association management industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful strategic planning and execution.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and fundraising experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and association management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with a board of directors and managing a membership-based organization.
