Job Summary

The Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead the organization's strategic, operational, and financial management. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the golf course management industry, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to advocate effectively for golf course superintendents across Georgia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement programs to enhance the goals and operations of the Georgia GCSA, working closely with the Board and Membership.
  • Board Communication and Execution: Communicate essential operational aspects to the Board of Directors and execute all Board decisions as directed.
  • Membership Support and Engagement: Foster strong relationships with members, understanding their needs and advocating on their behalf.
  • Financial Management: Develop and prepare the annual budget, provide quarterly updates, and manage financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Public Relations and Networking: Work with the public relations committee, correspond with allied associations, maintain relationships with local, regional, and national golf organizations and the media.
  • Event and Conference Coordination: Attend the GCSAA annual conference, organize and coordinate chapter dinner, and attend educational programs related to chapter management.
  • Documentation and Security: Provide security for all legal and historical files and documents.
  • Government Relations: Act as Secretary to the Georgia Allied Golf Group and work with lobbyists on governmental issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in business administration, sports management, turf management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role within the golf course management industry or a related field.
  • Skills: Proven track record of successful strategic planning and execution, strong financial management skills, including budgeting and fundraising experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
  • Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, experience working with a board of directors and managing a membership-based organization.
