About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization, the Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association. As the chief executive officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational, and financial management of the association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Board Communication and Execution: Communicate essential operational aspects to the Board of Directors and execute all Board decisions as directed.
  • Executive Committee Support: Execute decisions of the Executive Committee and keep them fully informed on the conditions and operations of the association.
  • Meeting Management: Organize, produce, and distribute agendas; attend, record, and distribute minutes and reports for all Board meetings.
  • Membership Support and Engagement: Respond to member requests on a daily basis, foster strong relationships with members, and develop and implement programs and services that enhance member value and satisfaction.
  • Financial Management: Develop and prepare the annual budget, provide quarterly updates, and manage financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Publication Management: Serve as publisher for the association's publication.
  • Public Relations and Networking: Work with the public relations committee, correspond with allied associations, and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national golf organizations and the media.
  • Event and Conference Coordination: Attend the GCSAA annual conference, organize and coordinate chapter dinner, and attend educational programs related to chapter management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business administration, sports management, turf management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role within the golf course management industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful strategic planning and execution.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and fundraising experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with a board of directors and managing a membership-based organization.
  • Knowledge of the golf course management industry and issues affecting golf course superintendents.
