Job Overview

Nexus Developmental Services Of Nebraska Llc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team. As a Shared Living Provider, you will play a vital role in providing residential support in your own home for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Your primary responsibility will be to maintain a safe and healthy home environment, providing basic home support and related responsibilities. This includes:

  • Providing and supporting nutritional meals
  • Offering transportation to appointments, day services, and recreational activities
  • Facilitating access to community activities, cultural, and religious services as appropriate
  • Providing up to 24-hour supervision and support as outlined in the individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP)

You will work closely with the individual and their family to develop a daily home routine that is based on their preferences and needs. This may involve teaching and supporting the individual's life choices, hopes, and dreams, as well as documenting this teaching daily.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to pass State/Federal and APS/CPS background checks, has experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, and has strong verbal/written communication and computer skills.

Requirements include:

  • Transportation, valid driver's license, car insurance, and current registration
  • Ability to pass State/Federal and APS/CPS background checks
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Access to a computer/laptop, printer, scanner, and internet for daily documentation
  • Completion of all required trainings
  • Strong verbal/written communication and computer skills
  • Compliance with all agency and state policies and procedures
  • Attendance and participation in all meetings
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly home
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 19 years of age
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, twist, reach, crawl, run, etc.
