Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day process flow of students successfully applying for financial assistance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to represent the financial aid office at various on-campus functions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist Students with Financial Aid Documents: Provide excellent service to students by answering questions and explaining financial aid-related information.
  2. Answer Inquiries and Provide Support: Respond to student inquiries and provide support via various channels.
  3. FAFSA Assistance and Analysis: Assist students with completing the FAFSA, analyze student information, and help make corrections as needed.
  4. Regulatory Compliance and Process Improvement: Stay updated on regulatory policies and make recommendations for changes to procedures based on new information.
  5. Special Projects and Training: Participate in special projects and maintain required training, licensure, and certifications.
  6. Confidentiality and Diversity: Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws, demonstrating sensitivity, understanding, and respect for diverse populations.
  7. Teamwork and Support: Maintain an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times of high volume or staff shortages.
  8. Attendance and Punctuality: Adhere to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  2. Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate considerable skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and working skills in problem-solving and recommending improvements to process flow.
  3. Technical Skills: Possess working skills in Microsoft Office Suite, internet search functions, and ability to navigate various sites, as well as operating a personal computer, applicable software, and peripheral equipment.
  4. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrate working skills in interpersonal interaction, verbal and written communication, and customer service techniques.
  5. Availability and Flexibility: Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department's needs.
