Role Expectations:

The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for managing patient medical records efficiently. This includes receiving, organizing, and electronically filing medical documentation, as well as handling patient inquiries and appointment scheduling. Additional responsibilities include processing requests for medical records and ensuring compliance with information release protocols.

Work Schedule: 4 days a week, 10 hours per day, Monday to Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to phone requests for patient records.
  • Accurately retrieve and organize medical records using designated identifiers.
  • Digitally file scanned documents into the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Ensure proper documentation and organization of patient charts for electronic filing.
  • Maintain records of chart requests and ensure timely processing.
  • Coordinate the retrieval of records from off-site storage as needed.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide excellent customer service when answering phone inquiries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification: EPIC certification is required for the specific module assigned.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year in medical records management is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in data entry, telephone communication, and use of office equipment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication abilities with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Cognitive Skills: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
