The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Development Principal Scientist to join our team in Biological Technologies-Analytical Development and Quality Control. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating biochemical, immunochemical, and cell-based assays for CMC technical development for clinical through launch-phase biologics products.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams to develop novel cell-based potency methods for products with complex mechanisms of action in support of process development, characterization, formulation screens, and GMP quality control of product release and stability.

Additional responsibilities may include developing data analysis approaches, routine lab maintenance and equipment qualification, and supporting inspection readiness with other groups/sites.

Requirements
  • PhD in Biological Sciences with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in the development, performance, and troubleshooting of biochemical/immunochemical and cell-based assays to be used for functional characterization.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently as well as with a team, handle multiple projects, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to fast-paced projects.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills.

Relocation benefits are available for this position. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $119,600 to $222,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
