The Opportunity

We're seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Engineer - Scientist to join our Cell Culture and Bioprocess Operations (CCBO) group. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for leading the development of scalable, robust, efficient, and sustainable cell culture processes for the production of biologics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of cell culture engineers/scientists in the development of cell culture processes
  • Represent the function on cross-functional project teams, collaborating with leads from other functions on CMC project deliverables
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and promote professional growth
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cell culture technology
  • Collaborate with representatives from research, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory functions
  • Author sections in regulatory filings and respond to Health Authority Q&A
  • Serve as an ambassador for the function, influencing stakeholders for new technology implementation
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience (7+ years for Senior-Principal level)
  • Advanced technical experience supporting cell culture process development activities
  • Extensive practical and theoretical expertise in process development and manufacturing, with a deep understanding of the drug development process
  • Ability to work independently, challenge the status quo, handle multiple projects, prioritize, delegate effectively, adapt to changes quickly, and work collaboratively on cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
  • Bio-Pharma industry experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing models for cell culture process development and optimization
  • Experience in cell culture media development

Relocation benefits are available for this position. The expected salary range for this position is $119,600 to $222,000 for the Principal level, $140,500 to $260,900 for the Senior Principal level. Annual actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
